Liturgical Ministers

LECTORS / MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION / ALTAR SERVERS

 

We invite you to share in one or more

of these parish ministries.

 

 

ATTENTION ALL MINISTERS:

"In order for our parish to be in compliance, all lectors, ushers, choir members, and Ministers of Holy Communion over the age of 18 need to complete a Virtus Adult Awareness Training. For a listing of the next available training, please click on the "Safeguard the Children" link in the left column of this page. Thank you for your cooperation in making OMGC a safer place for God's children."

 

 
LECTORS:  

Reflecting on, and sharing the Word of God at the Mass. The Lectors are the "readers" who are able to communicate to us, through their reading, the true sense of the Word. If you feel you have a talent for this ministry and are a Confirmed Catholic, we would love to hear from you.  

Anyone wishing to lector must complete Virtus® Training by the end of March. A schedule of upcoming trainings is available through the Safeguard the Children link on the parish website. If you have already completed this course please submit a photocopy of your certificate to the parish office.

MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION:  
The lay ministry of distributing the Body of Christ and the Blood of Christ during Communion. Members of this ministry will also bring Communion to the sick and homebound. If you are a Confirmed Catholic and are interested in this ministry, either at the Liturgies or to the hospital or homebound, kindly contact Mary Hickey through our parish office.

ALTAR SERVERS:  

This ministry is open to all youth of the parish from grades 5 thru 12. Training is required in the proper procedures used in assisting the priest at Mass. Contact John Paul Ramirez at: iwillbethird@gmail.com for more information. Monthly Schedules 

 

 
EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY TO KAISER HOSPITAL:

 

OMGC provides Eucharistic Ministers to Kaiser Permanente/Sunset on a daily basis. A group of 20+ parishioners is involved in taking the Body of Christ to those Catholics at Kaiser Hospital. If you have been trained to be a minister of communion and would like to volunteer and be involved in this ministry, kindly contact our parish office. 

 

 
CHOIR AND MUSIC:  
 
This ministry is open to parishioners of all ages and levels of musical ability. OMGC Choirs are here primarily to assist in the sung prayer of the assembly. All are welcome. If you have an interest in volunteering in this area, please contact the parish office and we'll be happy to refer you to the appropriate choir director for your preferred Mass.  Our famous Schoenstein Organ   

 

 
YOUTH MINISTRY  & CONFIRMATION

 

The Mission of this group is to strive to actively participate and live our faith so we can be examples for our peers, families, and community. We will continue learning about our faith so that we may grow in love to spread the Good news. OMGC provides Eucharistic Ministers to Kaiser Permanente/Sunset on a daily basis.
