ATTENTION ALL MINISTERS:

"In order for our parish to be in compliance, all lectors, ushers, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion over the age of 18 need to complete a Virtus Adult Awareness Training. For a listing of the next available training, please click on the "Safeguard the Children" link in the left column of this page. Thank you for your cooperation in making OMGC a safer place for God's children."

Bereavement Ministry:

The newest of our outreach ministries. A parish bereavement ministry enables parishioners to reach out to the families of parishioners at such a difficult time in their lives. Sometimes the bereavement ministers simply visit the aggrieved; other times, a luncheon is served in the hall after the funeral by bereavement ministers. All of this is done in sensitive consultation with the family itself. The function performed by the members of the bereavement committee usually depend upon the number of those in the ministry and the resources available.  If you have suffered a loss and seek assistance or if you wish to join this ministry, visit our web page or contact the parish office.   Take me to the OMGC Bereavement page

"Fourteen years ago, April 6th, was the beginning of the genocide in Rwanda where 800,000 people were brutally massacred. Today in the Darfur region of Sudan, the United Nations estimates that at least 10,000 people per month are dying from preventable starvation and illness.  At least 2 million people have been forced from their homes, and God only knows how many people have been killed in the genocide.  May Jesus, who fled for his life as a child, comfort those afflicted in Darfur, and may we take action ourselves to end the genocide.

If you would like more information about Darfur , and ways to help stop genocide, go to www.stopgenocidenow.org)"
